THE ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM
|
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is one of Canada's largest museums and one of the world's most prestigious cultural institutions dedicated to world cultures and natural history. With a collection of more than 6 million artifacts, and research and conservation activities that span the globe, the ROM has established itself as a must-see destination while in Toronto. In 2007, the ROM was dramatically re-energized with the addition of the extraordinary Daniel Libeskind-designed Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, a building recognized as one of the seven wonders of the architectural world by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. This provocative new landmark has sparked city-wide excitement and has fundamentally altered our cultural landscape. The ROM welcomes more than 1 million visitors each year to visit its galleries, participate in educational programs and view compelling temporary exhibitions, such as Water: The Exhibition and Maya: Sacred Kings & Queens. |
